The CBC today released a report on rent regulation in New York City, a system that governs more than one million housing units representing more than half the City's private rental market and one-third of the total housing stock.

CBC released a report titled, “Nine Facts New Yorkers Should Know About Rent Regulation.” It was prepared in connection with likely state legislative consideration of rent regulation in New York City and presents facts that should be taken into account in future discussions of rent regulation.
This report details nine important facts for the Legislature to keep in mind as rent laws are considered for modification. CBC believes they should be cautious about initiatives to extend the reach of rent regulation.
