The CBC Research Program

Competitiveness
David R. Greenbaum, Co-Chair
David Tanner, Co-Chair

This committee concerns itself with how the New York metropolitan region can become more competitive. It identifies policies and does research with that aim. It arose from CBC's 1996 Budget 2000 project, which found that New York City and State are not competitive with other jurisdictions because of their high tax burdens. It has done comparative analyses of those aspects of public infrastructure most important to business activities - local rail and highway transportation and telecommunications infrastructure.
