Letter to Governor Pataki on Pension and Heath Insurance Benefits of Public Employees

Jul 27, 2005

CBC urges the Governor to veto any bills that would increase the cost of fringe benefits and pensions for public employees. With both the City and the State facing multi-billion dollar deficits in the coming years, supplementing already generous benefits is unnecessary and unwise. The Governor should veto any bill that extends presumption of injury to additional classes of workers, extends legal protections to health insurance, shortens service requirements for retirement, or enriches pension payouts for a certain class of workers.
