In this op-ed published in the New York Sun, CBC Research Director Charles Brecher examines the extraordinary number and variety of business taxes in New York City and their detrimental effect on the City's economic competitiveness. CBC also calls on Mayor Michael Bloomberg and the City Council to appoint a blue-ribbon commission to map a multi-year strategy relating to the whole range of taxes and tax incentives.
