**Citizens Budget Commission Holds Forum on Long-Term
Planning and Capital Budgeting for NYC**
The
Citizens Budget Commission held a forum in December on long-term planning and
capital budgeting and released a report that makes recommendations for improving
the capital planning process and management of the City’s infrastructure.
The forum convened key stakeholders in government, business, labor and the
civic community to examine the Mayor’s long-range planning initiative, PLANYC,
and how best to ensure that long-term capital planning remains a top priority
for the City in the future.

The
panel discussed the role of the City Council, business and civic groups in
ensuring that long-range planning remains a top priority in the future.
Participating in this panel were New York City Council Member Daniel
Garodnick; CBC Trustee and President of the New York Division of Vornado, David
Greenbaum; and President of the Regional Planning Association, Robert
Yaro. The panel was moderated by James Lipscomb, CBC’s Chair and
